Connecticut-born Jaybee was brought up listening to the diverse sounds of Jazz & Pop, with deep roots in Hip Hop, Reggae and Dance Hall. Inspired by his father (who was a radio DJ), he developed an early fascination for music videos and radio shows. At age 13, he was introduced to a pair of turntables—and with influences like KRS 1, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, and Buju—began a lifelong journey into mixing and music production.

A few years later, he was intrigued by a friend’s techno compilation “Hit the Decks” Megamix tape series, and branched out into absorbing more electronic music genres like Breakbeats. He was introduced to jungle at his first Digital Konfusion Jungle Party with DJ ODI, who mixed two copies of “Terrorist,” which further piqued his interest on the decks. Coming from a turntablist background, he realized that it was possible to blend his Hip Hop mixing skills into Jungle music, zeroing in on his own style incorporating dope beats with tight scratches. Working closely with other prominent artists in the industry, Jaybee has been collaborating regionally with producers like Random Movement, Dave Owen, Grimm, and Sinistarr. He has played in a majority of the states and festivals like WMC; as well as overseas in Europe, including performing at the Mac II label showcase at Sun N Bass.

Jaybee’s music has received support by the likes of DJ Randall, Bryan Gee, DJ Marky, Calibre, Grooverider, DJ Storm, dBridge, LTJ Bukem, DJ Vapour, A-Sides, PFM, Trex, Physics, and Random Movement among others.

Now residing in Virginia, Jaybee has gone from strength to strength and is a fixture in the stateside drum and bass scene. With releases on Mac II, V Recordings, Liquid V, Chronic, GoodLooking, Innerground, Rubik and many others, he’s more than established a solid foundation as a key American drum and bass producer.
